In this case, I didn't bike up there. I rode to the base camp at the bottom of Mt Barney, but that climb involves scrambling through trackless bush for much of it (not to mention climbing over rocks and so on). I wouldn't want to put any scratches on that spanky bike now, would I?

Well I would have thought that you would have used the opportunity to get in a bit of `cross training' and carried the darn thing up there . we're disapointed with you Chris

You really started something this time! . Guess we are all going to have to drag out some scary pictures to frighten children and animals

Now that is the outback! MeHT, it looks like it is just a natural formation not a building. Then again I may be wrong.

Ummm, that 'building' is actually the peak itself. Mt Lindsay to be precise. A lot of ex-volcanoes around there.

Nope, I was at the summit of Mt Barney, South-west of Brisbane. The surrounding mountains look blue because of the eucalyptus haze.

Now that you mention it, it does look a little unusual, but it's definitely a natural formation. Mind you, it's nothing compared to some of the rock formations I saw when I visited the Granite Belt a couple of years ago.

It was formed by weathering. Over time the rock has been weathered to form the shap it is now. Weathering attacks the cracks, planes and joints in rocks. I guess i could go into alot more detail, but i can't be arsed right cause i've got a report to finish for tommorrow, otherwise i am f*ck*d.
it is natural, i sure thier are some websites about that explain ersional processes.
Stew
P.S. Look at photos of the Grand Canyon thier are some amazing rock formations.

Great photo mate!

Maybe that rock formation is actually the local LBS in disguise?
