Where did you ride today?

I rode from my apartment over to Savage Mill. It was a canvas mill until the 1950's when post-war canvas demand dropped. They turned the old buildings into a shopping plaza and park. I rode my Motobecane Messenger which was born as a fixed gear but has since been converted to run a 7 speed internal gear hub. The 28mm and 23mm smooth tires weren't ideal for the singletrack trail but I didn't crash so that's a win.

Some pictures:

The Little Patuxent River

(That's right, the tavern has a bike rack out front.)

Very nice, and what did they have on draft? The area around looks really nice as well.

Looks like a very nice area.

I'm starting to miss cycling. I would really like to get out today because it is finally sunny .... but it's freezing, I'm having quite a time getting the fire going to heat up the house (I'm having to babysit it today for some reason), it's been raining for days so the 2 km dirt path to the house is mud, and they've just moved the cows up here.

2 rides today.
1 was to the local Wallyworld, to get some household items.
The 2nd was downtown, to pay a utility bill; took my daughter with me on that one, we stopped to eat on the way, had a BALL!
Granted, I only clocked about 14 miles today, but they were all enjoyable. It's not all about fitness; for me, it's a way of life. Every step out the door follows a calculation of route, time, weather, and company (kids). I always grab my keys -- but there's not a car key in the mix, anywhere!

Three rides for me today. One trip to the local beach after visiting my wife at work during her break, was hottie poor today. Back to the beach with my cousin after he got home from work. A night ride with my wife that was cut short due to light rain, 36 miles.

Night is my favorite time to ride. Light winds, cool even if muggy and that feel night give of being enclosed in a much smaller world. Speeds are faster, curves tighter, distance shorter.

They make their own beer, The Fordham Brewing Company. They also have a beer club: https://www.ramsheadtavern.com/savage/beerclub.html

Quality always trumps quantity.

I rode down by the mall thinking there might be some good looking ladies out but couldn't find any; then my wife and I went to IKEA later that evening and I figured out where all of them had been hiding.

I rode a 17 mile loop on the commute home last night. Took me right up Foolish Hill. Which is aptly named, since it is one heck of an unrelenting climb.

Nice.

The Blackstone River Bikeway just has an ice cream stand. Although they do serve Uncle Richies famous Italian Ice, which is like rocket fuel for a cyclist since it has so much sugar in it. The last time I stopped for an Italian ice my pace improved by 3 miles an hour on the return leg. I was blowing by everyone.

It got down to -1 last night and yesterday's high was only about +10 up here in the hills. Today isn't supposed to get that warm, but it is bright and sunny.
