Argh why weren't the rb 002 endplugs on the site when the bars first were!?!?

And yeah I just got around to wrap them when I realized 002's take abnormal plugs...

EDIT: how would one go to use it? Can I assume you would go to push in the excess tape like you would with a normal plug but tighten afterwards to expand the rubber via the hex bolt?

The plugs that came with my tape fit in RB-002s just fine... What tape do you have?

cinelli cork from my parts bin. I broke one of the pins for one of them trying to get the first one in. It's too bad I don't have my entire parts bin here otherwise I'm pretty sure the ends from soma tape would've fit as I found those too small for the set of bars I put them on....

Those nice Nitto plugs showed up a couple of days after the bars did. Angie's got Cinelli plugs on hers and they fit fine.

Would there be interest in non-machined KinLins? I may have an opportunity to pick up a bunch factory direct and I'm thinking of setting up a pre-order/group buy so we don't lose our asses up front.

Sweet. The minimum order is only ten rims and various drillings are available so I'm sure we can make this happen. I'll try to nail down pricing/shipping cost over the next couple of days and get all the details together.

Which ones were they? Were they the newer black ones with the bulls eye? I used a NOS box and the plugs are silver coated plastic with words "cinelli" written circularly along the circumference of the plug end. And for the record, yes I am wrapping them up in confetti tape... only fitting for a 90's cdale track.

Nonetheless I'm lusting the plugs.

What would the spoke length be for lacing the XR-270's to the Novatecs with 32 hole 3 cross?

I'd totally be down for some NMSW kinlins (+ build kit), but I don't know when I will be able to buy them... depends on how long it takes me to get a job after I move. So, not very helpful.

im up for nmsw kinlins. is there a possibility of a nmsw build kit, with low spoke counts? (20/24 perhaps?)

looking forward to it.

I would be interested in this. I'm currently trying to decide whether I want to buy a complete bike, or build something up.

Sweet wheels O_O

This may be a stupid question:

Scrod, any tips on keeping the Retrogression straps staying up? Mine seem to slouch forward making me have to bend down and pull them over my foot every time. Small detail but I just wanted to know if I was just doing it wrong lol

Weird. Unless you have the straps really loose, that shouldn't happen.

I forgot to mention, this is only when I'm trying to actually put my foot in the strap, not when it's actually in already. My other friends' straps seem to stay upright making insertion much easier (that's what she said).

I think I solved it though, I just twisted the mounting straps (the ones that go through the pedal) so it keeps them upright. No harm no foul. Debating on going cages though, not sure if I'll see a big difference.

Just chiming in with some FGFS experience. If the design permits (I've never used scrod's straps but have used hold fasts; assuming the basic overview design is close enough), you can try to put a narrow horizontal piece/sliver of plastic from a small grocery bucket (let it be cottage cheese, yogurt, potato salad, etc as long as the plastic is pliable/ flexible) and insert it horizontally across where the velcro goes. If you don't get the convex shape you want, use an iron to heat warp the plastic sliver.

Awesome, that's a great tip, thank you.

Any suggestions on keeping the strap "up"? Instead of having it slouch forward?

No prob.

~If you're talking about the flipping the pedal, there isn't anything/ much (not exactly 100% sure on this one) you can do to offset the weight of the straps. Nevertheless, it seems to be one of the minor inconveniences you have to deal with and get used to; however through, platform pedals are among the easiest to flip due to the bountiful amount of tab/ space given; just look at what people with mks sylvans have to deal with LOL.

Scrod,

Any idea when the strap/pedal combo will be restocked?

I want to switch back to straps after using clips for a while.

Your setup is easily the best I can find for the price, so I'm willing to hold out a minute.

Another batch of them is underway and they should be back up on the site in a few days.

We're also working on a smaller version that will be compatible with track pedals that should be available in a few weeks.
