Curious about the Leader 722TS frame. I'm comparing it to a Pake Rum Runner and a Soma Rush. Locally, the FG riders hate on Leader frames. Saying they have poor build quality.

Thoughts, Scrod?

I think you know what my thoughts are considering I own two of them.

Most people who hate on Leader do so because they think that's what they're "supposed" to do because of things they've only heard and have never experienced for themselves. The 722TS is hand tig-welded and overall quality is as good as - if not better than - anything else in its price category. Take a look around these forums and others. There's a lot more good things being said about the 722TS than bad.

People give me **** for supporting Leader all the time and in short - if we couldn't back it, we wouldn't sell it. If I payed attention or cared too much about the naysayers, I'd never get anything done. Do your own thing.

That's the one I wanted to use to stick on my bike. I have a ton of others ones (like 100 scrod has a posse stickers), man. Don't worry.

haha, okay. So it looks good. My bad y'all.

The only immediate thing I'm having 'trouble' with is very loose spokes that are kind of poking out more than others.
I think once I get an even amount of tension around all the spokes, they'll hopefully fall into place?

It's becoming more appealing the more I research it.

This is sort of a cross post from another thread I started, but, I'm 6 foot 3 or so, and weigh around 230-240, trying to lose about 25 pounds. Would the 722TS be able to handle my size and weight without undue stress on the frame?

Not Scrod, but I weigh as much as you and haven't had any problems with my 722 at all.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback!! Anyone who owns this frame are the ones I'd like to hear from the most on quality issues. Hopefully after Christmas I'll be able to order a frame and fork and slowly start my build.

No prob. The overall quality is great; the welds look very good, the hydro-formed tubing is cool, and it rides awesome. I'd definitely recommend this frame to anyone.

It's up to her, I was eyeing the 80mm Deda one since the FSA one only has 90mm as the shortest on RG.

Let me check the my LBS so you don't have to deal with my jackassery anymore lol.

Scrod,

Just a random question, is it just you and Angie that run the shop?

A complaint that some of my friends have expressed (not forum members) is the few days delay before an order goes out, unlike some online retailers. I don't really have a problem with it myself, but just sharing peer feedback with you. I just tell them to be patient because I figured you were a one man operation.

It's usually just Angie and myself but we do have help from time to time. Considering the amount of orders we process every single day, I feel we do a really good job getting everything processed and out the door in a timely manner.

IMO, people expect too much. I've ordered plenty of things online in my life and have never once "complained" that it took two days to process my order. We're not Zappo's and we don't work 24 hours a day.

Right, that's basically what I've been telling them. I don't mind the wait really, supporting small business is great.

plus whatever people may think scrod is lacking in 'process' time for a small business he more than makes up for everywhere else. 90% of the time the stuff goes out the next business day or two, it's really rare that it takes longer than that

I wish there was an RSS feed to subscribe to for new products. THAT would be awesome. Also very terrible for my wallet.

Silver Novatecs have been an elusive beast but we're working on it.

I'll have to check with Velocity to see when the NMSW A23s will be back. We've gotten a ton of requests for them.

Official Velocity build kits could happen but adding all the available options to the site will be pretty overwhelming/time consuming. We've been doing them on a "special order" basis.
