    Giro Roadie helmet??

Not exactly SS/FG but I know you folks could help.... I have a Giro helmet that the padding is starting to deteriorate. Whenever I wear it, it leaves blacks specks on my forehead. The helmet itself is in great shape. Can I buy replacement padding or something? I really like the suspension system on this one hence the reason I want to keep it instead of just replacing it.
    Best regards - steve

Bell Helmets owns Giro. Customer service will help you out. Make sure you tell them which model helmet you have, they might even send you pads no charge...

Both of my Giro helmets came with a second set of padding. As long as you know you're model helmet, it should be easy to find replacement padding.
Hey guys, lets go play bikes!

Have you considered asking Giro directly? It might be a somewhat good idea.

If your helmet is 3-5 years old or older or been in a crash or been dropped, time to get a new one. Helmets have a short life because of the EPS foam used which deteriorates especially with sweat, sun and abuse. The Smith helmets and others that use Koroyd might have a longer shelf life just because the material they use is different and might not be as effected by sweat,

I recently got a Giro Synthe helmet and it is probably the best helmet I have ever worn. It is really light and super comfortable, plus it ventilates quite well. It costs a crap-load of money but it is so worth it!

You have to do this^. You can't go through a dealer who would otherwise end up telling you the same thing.

The Synthe is on my want list. I have another year left in my Aeon and Air Attack though, so I'm being patient to see if anything better comes along by next summer.

I hope nothing better comes along, I don't see much improvement on that design. Maybe if they used Koroyd instead of EPS foam but kept the same shape and design, it might be a little sweeter. Aside from that I haven't found much flaw in the helmet that I couldn't find on other helmets.

Do you have the A.A. Shield version like a boss or did you go with the lame non-shield version and cannot pretend you are in Top ***? ; )

Haha, no shield...I got the Air Attack for dirt cheap...probably because everyone wanted the shield version.

Thanks for the replies. Gonna check Giro's website first and see what I can find.
    Best regards - steve
