Best fixie bike for under $300???

Ha! Sike!

I'm having a bit of a brain fart and I'm hoping you guys can make some suggestions. I am looking for a single speed frame(gotta have rear brake capabilities) that is not only sexy, but also lugged and has a horizontal top tube. There's the Wabi and the Colossi Mondial, but are there others worth mentioning?? Budget not to exceed 1k. Thanks, buds!

Man, I was ready for the pitchforks...
I've heard a lot of good things about the Wabi.
I mean, if you know about bikes and have a decent "scene" around you you can probably build one up for under 1k, if you find some quality used parts. I built my black label up starting in March which was great, because every shop in Tempe was having a sale. I didn't pay for anything full price and it came out to around $800. I love it, I just wish I went with a lighter wheelset (Weinnman DP18). I'm sure you could find a quality lightly used parts in Austin.

I ride a Pure Fix Oscar so I obviously know nothing but I am checking out The Tribe Bicycle Company's 6061 at just below $700 if I hit my training goals for next year. Looks like a very good bike.

I've got great components already. I was planning on swapping everything over from my Fuji to new frame.

This is pretty much a constant issue with BikesDirect/BikeIsland. You could always do the calling them up thing to find out when they will get more.

I'm thinking I want something a little nicer than those frames anyway.

Don't get a critical fixie ($219) - pretty bad components and odd size wheel bearings.

If that's the only "brand name" component on it, I'd be worried.

Nope.

I think you may be missing the tongue-n-cheek nature of the title of the thread.

Abuser? The bike you posted earlier, and of course its components, sucks. This thread isn't about bikes retailing under $300
