^ LOL
He's cruisin' Nebraska now. Met a dude from Germany that finished college here and is doing the same thing, but on a geared bike.

Anywhere I roam
Just started reading this guy's blog yesterday. I think I might be more amazed at the fact that he road halfway across the country with his seatpost half an inch too high than I am about the fixed part, but then combining those two factors, and....SERIOUSELY?!
Anyway, I'm really hoping the best for this guy, Ari's his name. Now that he's entered Wyoming, the adventure is about to become much bigger! It'll be interesting to see what his route choices are from here. The photos are likely to get more interesting over the next few days as well.

He's pushing a fairly big ratio for the distance he's going. I suppose it's about the minimum so you're not spinning way out of control on descents though. Looks like he's kinda got it figured out.

He'll be having a long rough one today, and then enjoy Yellowstone tomorrow. He's a LONG way from home.

Yeah, long way from home! I was just thinking of that, and as I was wondering what he might be thinking about his surroundings right now, I just figured it probably feels about the same as I would if I were all by myself in Boston. I'm sure I'd feel overwhelmed by the people, cars, streets, buildings, and endless trees... For him it's almost a total opposite... But he's bound to be in awe of some of the scenery and features. He went through Thermopolis in Wyoming...I wonder if he spent any time there, it's the world's largest mineral hot springs and you can swim there, but you have to pay. Between Shoshoni and Thermopolis there is a huge, long tunnel that cuts through a mountain side next to the Wind River and he'll be seeing some real beautiful country towards Cody. I live in Wyoming, so I could be a bit partial about this point in his journey and I'm anticipating his next blog entries to see what he chose to photograph. We shall see.

I want him to do a southern route on the way back. Hit Utah, Bryce, Zion, Monument Valley.

Wind River Canyon & strange things in Thermopolis in case you wanted to see where he most recently rode through.

He made his fist BIG climb. Yosemite on a bike. That would be cool.

Yosemite is probably in the top three most beautiful places on earth for me. Never been there though. Hopefully some day.

Brutal 3 days, sounds like. And had his first "bad" people experience. Actually, that's not too bad for 2,800 miles.

Acted like a mark, got treated like a mark. I trust crunchy, couch surfing, bikes not bombs, granola eaters less than I trust cholos. That really sucks for him though.
