So check it...I'm no physicist (hard to imagine I know), but I have mine mounted such that the back tire is a few feet off the floor when the bikes are hanging. My guess is that if you're trying to leave the back tire on the ground it simply will not work, unless you've accounted for the raising and lowering. There has to be some room for the bike's top tire to be raised when hooking it, then lowered "onto" the tray. Try doing like so:

If that doesn't work...you may need the hammer or channel locks
Thank you for the video. I will give it another shot when I get home. I've never used one before (or ever seen one used) though I knew it couldn't be that hard. I think the issue is the rim is just too tall for the distance the hook hangs out to easily slide the wheel behind it like you did. (your hook looks like it hangs out way farther. I'll take a pic of the one I got later)

Also, Bill Nye > Beakman. Though I did watch both when they were on.

I liked Beakman, I watched it when i was younger. By the time I discovered Bill Nye, I already knew everything that poseur was pushing, thanks to Beakman, who was aimed at a younger age. Bill Nye was aimed also at parents who were science deficient.

Bill Nye is on Netflix, not all the episodes are up there, but there's a good amount.

I recently had a rather fun, not so sober night watching Bill Nye in my apartment thanks to Netflix.

Tried the method you demonstrated in the video when I got home. It worked much better but was still not seamlessly easy - and is definitely because of the height of the rims. Lifting the bike just a little too get it in was also awkward.
