ISO: upright wall rack/mount for fixie sized rims
I ordered one of those Leonardo wall mounted racks where you stand your bike upright on it's back tire and - aside from the thing having completely incorrect directions, I couldn't for the life of me figure out how the mother to get my front tire into the damn tray. I don't know if you have to tilt it, turn it, wedge it, who knows. Furthermore, I think one of my issues was that the rims I have are very deep, which caused an issue trying to get the wheel around the hook.
This is the rack: https://www.amazon.com/Delta-Leonardo.../dp/B000FGTTEW
Can anyone recommend a rack that does the same thing, but allows easier access for such deep rims as we see on fixies/SS ??
Thanks!

I think the rack is more designed for older style flatter rimmed wheels, whereas many wheelsets now have much taller rims (deep V? - maybe i'm using my terminology wrong I don't know), and I think this makes it harder for these wheels to easily be loaded into the rack. I mean, it must be possible because I am sure lots of roadies with their aero wheels use them, but who knows. I thought I'd ask here since its the same type of rim you see on purefix bikes, etc.

I have two of those same (maybe not same brand) racks in my living room. I've never had issues fitting my "fixie sized" rims in the hooks. If you like, I'll take a pic of the setup when I get home from work and post it.
You do have the hook at the very top, and are trying to hang the bike vertical, correct?

Haha I love your illustration.
Yes, that's the one, and yes the hook is at the top. I don't want the bike to hang, necessarily, the rear wheel can rest on the floor but yes it is vertical against the garage wall- the directions apparently don't call for that as where it had me mount it the bike was very far off the ground.
Besides that, and more importantly, I couldn't figure out how to easily get the front wheel in, and it took about 4 minutes to get it out once I managed to get it in - fighting it the whole time. Do you angle it the wheel? Turn it? Flip the bike upside down? Use a teleported? It was so aggravating. It's probably stupid easy and I'm just a moron, but, that's where I'm at...

People, stupidly, take what he says as scientific gospel, even though in reality he's just another talking head. Not saying he's a bad guy but he's about as much of a scientist as Liberace is strait.

Dang y'all...I'm just glad it's not another "Which bike do I get?" threads.
So check it...I'm no physicist (hard to imagine I know), but I have mine mounted such that the back tire is a few feet off the floor when the bikes are hanging. My guess is that if you're trying to leave the back tire on the ground it simply will not work, unless you've accounted for the raising and lowering. There has to be some room for the bike's top tire to be raised when hooking it, then lowered "onto" the tray. Try doing like so:

If that doesn't work...you may need the hammer or channel locks
