Omnium Cranks or???
Well, I have searched and read many threads and posts. It appears there are a lot of happy customers, but a few unhappy due to bottom bracket issues. So, I might just use a Chris King bottom bracket.
1) Any thoughts on the Omniums that you think I should consider?
2) Is there another crankset that I should be researching?
3) It looks like they run from 165s to 175. What are your thoughts about lengths on SSs? I usually run 170s to 175s.

You can pair a philwood BB with one too.
If you're gonna stick with omniums, pass on the philwood GXP because chris king GXP's have been out for ages and people are selling them secondhand for significantly cheaper as people move on to frames with BB30 and the like. And well, chris king is pretty much bulletproof and designed to outlast the rider/ 1st owner in most cases.

Thanks everyone for the input. Yes, the Sugino 75s do look better to me, too. So, I will be giving them some more consideration. And yes, this would be for the Langster.

Yes. I am not a SS or Fixed Gear aficionado, and fell into this a little backwards. But, it is a perfect addition to the stable as a fun bike to ride. The Mavic wheels made a very noticeable improvement. The MTB bars are needed for my fused neck. I usually ride it on short rides, 10-20 miles, and mostly just out to play. My bikes are hobby, transportation, health, etcetera, and without any other expensive hobby I am always looking at mods I can do.
PS, I know you might have been messing with me due to my computer smashing replacement, but given I do really like it I thought I would give a real answer.

Or if you want something truly special, get some Campy Record Pistas.
Can get a used set in good condition for the price of 75s and they look way more refined are technically equal or better. They are some serious functional art.

I like the Omniums. So far I haven't had any issues with the BB (fingers crossed). Though I have read about others having problems, and that the GXP BB is crap (again, for me, so far, so good). That being said, I keep an extra one on hand, just in case. Maybe when it does fail, and I've burned through the spare one, I'll invest in a Chris King. Otherwise, for street use, I find the Omniums to be pretty good for the price...stiff, smooth, good Q-factor. If were to buy another crankset I'd get them again, unless I won the lottery...then I'd get some Sugino 75's or Campagnolo. Why? Why not? I'd have won the lottery and I'd be entitled to a little more bling on my bike

Have you ever looked at Omniums up close and compared their finish to 75s ? The Omniums are very crude and totally unfinished on the insides, whereas the 75s are beautifully finished everywhere. Sure, this is a cosmetic issue, but if you are going to spend the coin on something, why not get the best.
