With the limited amount of info on those, I'd have to say my gut reaction is that they're vastly overpriced. Can you provide links to the ads for each, provided they give some more info on the frames and components? And are those prices USD or CSD? I feel like I saw another thread where it was mentioned that you're in Canada.

Yeah it's Canadian. Sorry bout the lack of info. What is on the ads is on the post. But I've contacted the seller. What should I ask about?

If you can, exercise patience and keep looking on craigslist for a good deal on a decent ride.

Where are you in Canada? I know there is a lot of fixed gear bikes in BC. I'm in Seattle and will always come across them in the extended range section of my craigslist searches. I would also think there would be a lot in Toronto.

There are alot in toronto, but it's hard to find the sweet spot between price and quality second hand when alot of the time there is very little info on the bikes and they apear to be rather over priced or just outside of my price range. I'm in Kitchener Waterloo by the way so BC is not really an option, but yeah there are alot of good looking bikes being sold from there. I'm also somewhat worried about using craigslist, although I have been, because I've heard that there are alot of fraudulent ads on there.

Bikes are never sold from big box stores. They only sell Bike Shaped Objects. (I still don't understand Canadian Tire. Even though I lived in Buffalo for 15 years.)

I live in Toronto and see this guy's ads all the time. The bikes are always overpriced, in my opinion. I'm pretty sure he gets police auction bikes and sells them way marked up. Personally, I'd never buy a bike from there.

You are concerned about fraud on craigslist- that's not a huge concern for bikes. The important thing is to check the bike over- some people without scruples sell damaged/crashed bikes for full price. I just had a friend buy an old-10 speed whose fork was so bent it could ride straight. The seller knew it too.

Keep checking craigslist and kijiji- check Hamilton too. It takes work and patience to find the right used bike for you but it's worth it.
