The kilo will be the quickest handling track bike they sell.

Kilos aren't very light, my pro weighed under 17 pounds but I think at least 6 of that was frameset.

Flex as in skid marks on my chainstys after efforts.

Depends on how good you are at putting it or, anything else together, after you open the carton.

I think my kilo was around 20-21 lbs but I never cared about weight.

I've never rode another bd bike outside of my girlfriends 47cm motobecane so I can't compare.

Lol no offense intended. But unless you were pushing a 47cm with carbon fiber chainring bolts and alibaba carbon wheels and weighed it without pedals and brakes I just don't see it.

Morgan scores a 10 on the Trumpometer for hyperbole.

@nagrom, was this the bike weight of the bike as shipped? Thanks for answering my question, there is hardly any information on the weight of these bikes.
@Huffandstuff, if you could tell a difference, how did her Motobecane Track compare against your Kilo TT?

Thanks again.

Sorry, I meant to ask what was the weight of the stock bike (i.e. before you did any modifications to it).

@Nagrom_ #kilott was no normal kilott. That thing was a beautiful disaster of some of the best parts on a incredibly average frame.

I don't know why people find it so hard to believe. Browse the track forum for a couple minutes and you may come across another 17lbs steel bike:

Except for 28c tires and Nitto bullhorns my Kilo is all stock and weighs 21 lbs. Seems improbable that you can find a superior steel bike for $400, brand new with warranty etc.

when the weight of a bike—while the combination of terminologies is misleading already—really matters/affects:
1. shipping cost
2. when you have to carry it up/down to/from subway stations.

if bikedirect.com makes you convinced a good deal by showing the weight 'clearly'... why not?

My vintage 80s era 531 steel Cilo is about 19 pounds and that is a geared and braked bike with no crabons. A lightweight steel bike is not a difficult thing at all. It can get expensive but so can any lightweight bike. The Rodriguez Outlaw is under 14 pounds with pedals and you could easily cut that weight down if you wanted to.
