Installing Dicta FreeWheel

Hi,

Got my Dicta freewheel in the mail today.

Seems simple enough to install but a few questions:

a) I understand I don't need a lock nut for the freewheel side right?
b) Should I lubricate inside the freewheel mechanism with some chain lube
c) Should I grease the freewheel threads before installing?

Thanks!

Definitely grease the threads. You shouldn't need to lubricate the inner mechanism. No lock ring needed, just thread it on and pedal to snug it up.

Since when is telling someone to figure something out for themselves "not constructive"?

Since the refs he points to I've already looked at and are contradictory. Besides, what's the point of having a forum if the answer is to google and figure it our for yourself?

And now you don't even want to ride with a freewheel. Waste of time.

How did the human race ever survive pre-internet?

At any rate, the answer to your question is cats. Install your freewheel using cats.

Agreed. Many would dare not say face-to-face what they say in this forum.

I feel like a few people here might not hold back in a face-to-face situation.

Not me. I'm pretty consistent and prefer to tell it like it is.

Eh, it was a simple question and some totally cool-ass dude gave a simple answer in the first reply. If folks wanna snark out, they ought to at least get there first.

My cats don't know crap about freewheels, they're all fixed felines (neutered).
