Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? French hub questions.

I just got a pair of old LeTour track hubs, and upon rebuilding them I found that the cones are pitted a little. I was wondering if anyone knows if there was anyplace I can get new cones that are the correct threading, and if not, if I could get new axels and cones. Will this work? I don't know much about if cone "taper" is the same for all cones.

Also, there are no track nuts with the hubs. Are there any available that will fit?

One more thing: the rear hub has larger berrings than the front hub. I'm not sure if they are the same size as those used in 3 piece BB's. One is missing, is it replaceable?

p.s. I am just taking an educated guess that these are French threaded as they are probably from the mid 70's and look identical to the normandy hubs that came on old peugeots and motobecanes.

Thanks a bunch.
