Quarter mile?

Nope. Not even close. Add 7 or 8 seconds to that.

2006 E55 doing the QUARTER-MILE in four seconds? No way in hell, unless of course you're up above 650 HP and the car is gutted in its entirety. I'm doubtful that this is the case. The E55 is not exactly a lightweight, and being a German sedan, it's more suited for long high-speed trips. If you've got timeslips and photos that show this thing is that fast and is a purpose built drag car.

Sheer utter nonsense.

As previously noted drag racing legend Big Daddy Don Garlits personal record is 4.72 seconds for the 1/4 mile in a Top Fuel dragster.
Not exactly a vehicle to take the family to church in.

This, too.
650 at the wheels, gutted interior, an E55 is probably good for mid 10s on drag radials. Even 6,500 horsepower wouldn't be close to enough.

Why did I write 1/4 mile. You are correct I meant zero to 60 in 4.1 seconds. My bad. My brain was thinking one thing and I was typing another.

Still seems optimistic for a heavy car that's generally geared for sustained triple digits on the highway. I like them, but they ain't dragsters (or light to light racers).

True, I figured gutted as in a fair amount of the car being replaced with aluminum and basically no longer drivable on the street. I agree with you, though.

Stock the car has 469hp and about the same in torque. Out of the box it can do high 11s on a good day.

I am so glad I started this thread. My take away is a wood cargo carrier is not very desirable, and a typo is not forgivable. I am prepared to throw out all my tools, and my car is now for sale on Craigslist. I pledge to never touch wood again.

On a good day being the key phrase here. Most numbers I've seen (through quick research) are closer to mid-12's consistently.

Isn't this a bike forum? How did a post about wooden cargo carriers devolve into car talk (but not the funny show Car Talk)?

Did you have the wine marinated or the plain? Either is good though.
