Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

nitto jaguar 27.0

i've been looking for the nitto jaguar double bolt track seatpost in 27.0 to no avail. i'm almost positive that i've seen it for sale in that size, but all i can find now is 27.2...anyone know a spot?

also, failing that, does the "crystal fellow" come in 27.0? i'm sure someone will recommend a thompson soon, and i realize that they're nice, but they just don't look quite right, in my opinion.

any other nice 27.0 posts out there? i hate to give up my miche supertype, but that .2mm just won't make it in the new frame.

http://fixedgear.americancyclery.com/ has the jaguar in 27.0 listed in their catalog, but it's $135. Have you looked at the salsa shaft? The laser etching sorta bugs me, but it's a really nice post for around $60.

Also, business cycles lists the jaguar as available in 26.8, 27.0, & 27.2, but there's no price listed (possibly meaning he's out of stock). Jon's a really helpful guy; I'd call him to inquire before shelling out $135.

TrackBikeKing sold them on eBay for significantly less than BusinessCycles. And hopefully without prompting too many off-topic replies, I had a very good experience with them. Might want to look up their new online store.

[edit]Or why don't I just do it for you? http://www.houseoftrack.com/seatpost2.htm - $100[/edit]

Jon is definitely awesome, but isn't comparing Business Cycles to American Cyclery like comparing red apples to green ones? Same deal, the reds are just sweeter.

scored one from one on one in minneapolis for fifty bucks today.

funny how that works. found exactly what i was looking for (what are the odds of finding a 27.0?), at the only place i went to, and for a truly sweet price.

don't mean to hijack the thread, but this is seatpost related so i'll post it here instead of a new thread. I've been trying to track down a seatpost I saw a while back that's drilled out below the clamp. I think it's got 3 triangular shaped holes underneath the clamp and I believe it's an older model. I know it's kinda vague but if anyone can tell me what it might be that'd be great.

double bolt. nitto.

nitto makes really really tough stuff, and they have really high standards, as does NJS.

i was looking for it mostly because its an attractive looking double bolt post. even at 100 bucks its only 20 more than a thompson, which is far uglier. color me satisfied.
