Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Cadel scared of fixed

The king of broken collarbones has given his a good tap in my honour... see www.cyclingnews.com for more.

I remember the good ol days when i used to zip past Cadel offering to street race him when he was riding for T-mobile. 'No bloody way!' was his reply.

He thought I was mad.

He's not the first.

I still have a scar on my leg from Brett Lancaster's track bike. Does that count?

Greg Lemond and me hung out at a night clubs once. Later that night I walked into a cocktail waitress and was nearly blinded by Wild Turkey, served neat of course.

Does that count?
