Eno Crank

Anyone have experience with the Eno Crankset?

xrmattaz 05-17-05 08:44 AM

 I have three and a half (!) ENO's on four bikes!

I love 'em. SS MTB/fixieMTB (X2) and fixie roadie. The "half" involves just a left ENO crankarm on my Surly 1X1, as it was a replacement for one that I "thought" had stripped threads....but didn't. Called White Industries, and they sent a new one!

Light/stiff/strong...not really cheap.

PS. I have a brand new set of 180mm ENO's coming today or tomorrow, just the arms/no ring. PM me if you're interested, I might let these go, as I ran outa bikes.

How does the chainring mount on those? Is it splined like an older XTR big ring?

The chainring does indeed mount on to a "splined" surface. A lockring holds her on there proper.

Fixie/SS benefits with an perfectly concentric ring, thus the chain has NO tight/loose spots, the tension remains the same throughout the rotation!

I highly recommend the ENO cranks to all those who enjoy SS/fixie!! :D

It also comes in a cool green. what variety of chainrings are available? I thought I read that 44 teeth was the max Eno had to offer. are other rings compatible? (I use a 42 now, so I'm not too worried)

The latest info I have from White lists rings in 32, 34, 36, 38 and 44. Sorry, no 42.

A good question would be whether or not an XTR 950 ring would fit on there.

A lot of folks on the mtbr.com SS board seem to have them. Check over there.
