Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Vredestein Fortezza SE's cheap half price

http://www.performancebike.com/shop/....cfm?SKU=18505

I know everyone is always looking for tire deals and I thought I'd seen these mentioned as some people's favorites.

Never tried them myself and they're blue but half price($25) isn't bad.

Only riden them for about fifty miles, but they've treated me right thus far (especially when serving up ramming speed on park ave).

Seconded - good tires for the money when they're on sale.

Do a search through the archives... absntr has a write-up of these in a number of places. Although, unlike him, I've gotten good mileage over crappy roads with narry a flat.
