SS rider with a need for upgrades on Masi Uno

Ok so I don't know much at all about biking other than pedal and hydrate water on water until you are ready for a beer or some juice...

I have the Masi Uno, its all I really need at the moment. I live in Miami so no fixie for me too many RIP memorials street side out here.

But Ive changed my pedals and grips and seat and rubber... the brooks is actually the better of the saddles I have had. Although all the upgrades are for visual aesthetics.

So no I'd like to ride more efficiently and to be more powerful.

So ive read up on a few items.
-chain (def need one of these)
-crankset
-seat stem
-new bars, Id prefer some all black risers like the smaller BMX ones just cant seem to find any!!!
I'd like to get some new hubs and all of that but I love the rims I have and I think that will be my last piece I try to get.
-rear brake or front break.
-carbon fork

all while im not looking for the fanciest per say but I would like to keep my color schemes and to keep the weight down as much as possible.

So any other MASI riders or anybody wanna toss me some ideas, recommendations hahaha wanna toss some newbie hate or love ill take it all.

all of the comments will be appreciated!

PS a water bottle holder that would hold a 22oz would be the tits!

Ill post a pic when I get 10 posts!

Aside from the chain, assuming it needs to be replaced, the things you listed are not going to help you accomplish this. Ride more, get stronger.

so changing the ratio and getting a dif crank will not allow me to pedal more efficiently and stronger?

its all good, Ill figure it out.

A different gear ratio may help you pedal more comfortably, and maybe a bit more efficiently for your terrain. A different crank won't make you more efficient unless you're already straining the limits of your current setup. You'll only get stronger by riding more. As for the bars, if you want efficient, you want drop bars. They give a more aero riding position. I'm not sure what you're looking for with the brakes. You won't notice any weight differences there. You might shave some grams with the carbon fork, but it would be a bit ugly on that bike, and not really worth when the rest of the bike is straight gauge CroMo steel. Finally, the hubs and wheels. Unless you build your own wheels, it's probably easier to get some that are already built. If you get a much lighter set, say the ~ $300 Sub15 wheels from Wabi Cycles, you may notice a difference here. By the time you upgrade all those parts you're looking at more money than the bike cost to begin with. If you're on a limited budget you're not likely to end up with parts that are better than what you already have.

tl;dr - unless you feel an obvious deficiency, just ride your bike. You can put money away over time and buy a whole new, better bike when you're ready for one.

If you want to throw money at a bike, get some carbon clinchers. It will give you the most noticeable improvement in speed. Having less weight at the rim of a wheel means that less energy/work need to go into getting them rotating which means that more energy/work is spent toward moving you forward. This is because there is a lower moment of inertia when the wheels are lighter or if there is less mass concentrated at the extremities of the wheel.

Rotation and Work-Energy Principle
Moment of Inertia

If you want the largest effect, get Mavic Cometes since their shape is even more spherical than your typical carbon wheels/discs. This is also in addition to the aerodynamic properties that are motivating this profile.

Is this what you should be doing with your money? Probably not. Everyone here is telling you to ride the bike which is the best advice but if you really want to go faster at all costs, get nice wheels.

Counterpoint: carbon clinchers are dumb.
