cheap rear wheels in SF?/ first fixed gear/ first post
Hello all. I'm trying to put together my first fixed gear and I'm trying to do it as cheaply as possible. I'm just going to be using this bike to get around town so I'm not looking to spend alot. I've almost pieced a whole bike together for almost no money with spare parts.
Anyhoo, I'm looking for a rear wheel (700c). I'd like to go with a flip flop hub and I'd like to avoid having one built/redished. Through ebay I've found a site (NYCbikes.com) that sells an inexpensive rear wheel with a suzue flip flop hub and a double walled rim for $80. Finally, my question is: Is there a shop anywhere in SF that sells something similar to this wheel? A cheap flip flop complete rear wheel? I'm not spending more than $80 on a rear wheel for a beater city bike and I thought having one shipped from New York was a bit rediculous given the huge bike community here. If you can help, I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Orand

Cant think of anywhere local off hand. Seems like the price of realestate here prevents there from being a serious discount fixie store. BensCycle.com sells a cheap but ok wheelset for $135, maybe you could get them to sell you a single wheel?

Refried Sells these - Go see Benjamin (Benji) at Refried Bicycles (https://www.refriedcycles.com) on Haight b/w Fillmore and Webster - he has some inexpensive pre-built track wheels with suzue hubs. He also sells used parts - so you might find something a little better for a good price. Like - I picked up a beautiful used white leather Selle San Marco saddle this weekend for $5. I've been buying all the parts for my new track bike from him and he's been very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough good things. He know his stuff too. It's what a bike store it supposed to feel like.

Valencia Cyclery has Suzue Basic/Sun M13II wheels for about $80. They also have Formula/Mavic CXP22 wheels for about $100.

I was at pedal revolution last thursday and I didn't ask about specific wheels but they seem to be fixie friendly, you might try giving them a call.

actually then would be correct if asking who is it going to
than would be correct with the way the first guy originally meant it - because it is comparing. But still - than whose it too - makes no sense whatsever

I think "who's", as in "who is", would be more appropriate than "whose", as in "whose is that?"
