Midnight Ride Ruined

Well, I decided to go for a Midnight ride tonight, to my mistake. It seems that I forgot about the clubs and bars. So of course by the time I get out of the house after getting home from work, everyone is getting out of the clubs/bars. So of course I'm having to deal with TONS of traffic, TONS of loud drunken people randomly walking into the street without notice. It wasn't the funnest. I was hit once, I was starting up from a stop at a light, and this car comes out of nowhere and hits the rear of my bike, luckily nothing was hurt on my bike, but he needs a new headlight. And then these idiots started chasing me down a street, nothing too hard to avoid, except for the street was slippery cobblestone (where I somehow managed to get road rash on the inside of my calf).
It's too bad, because this would've been the perfect night for a nice calm ride.

Forgot about the clubs and bars? That's like forgetting about how they let all the people out of Arkham Asylum.

I sometimes go downtown late at night just to play with all the traffic from the clubs and bars... But I usually hit one before I go out and play ;)

yeah. my midnight bike riding nearly exclusively is out of need to be at said bars.

I rode home from a party one night at about 4 AM on a Sunday, and it was the best drunken night ride ever. I only saw about three cars.

I did a bar tour with like 60 other people the other day through the beach resort area and it was blast speeding past all the jammed up traffic on the main strip.

I've done more drunk biking than I care to admit, but I had my first drunken fixed bike ride last night -- up and down lots of hills. There was practically no one on the road and the night was misty and cool. Sooooo fun, I just couldn't stop riding and I woke up feeling strong.

RI drivers are clueless when sober--let alone drunk! A great place for late night riding is Blackstone Blvd--Swan Cemetary. I used to take late night rides throughout the East side and part of Pawtucket on my late night rides. So far, still alive and unscathed.

A former (and possibly future) Bucket Dweller here. I used to avoid Providence like the plague at the witching hour. Too many Vinnies from Cranston, who have had too many Buds at the Hot Club and drive like maniacs in their IROCS. Apologies to any Vinnies who don't behave like this. East side is much more subdued at night for rides.

LMAO!
You forgot about the Hot Club Vinnies that ride their Harleys without helmets (aka: the organ donors).

I love the graveyard on Blackstone, I have fun with my 52-14 geared bike there, graveyards are so much fun to ride in.

this saturday we're having a bike party in town... i think some 7 to 15 houses are throwing parties, and you are only allowed entrance if you arrive by bicycle... wonder how many bikes will be 'misplaced' after the first few houses...

have you ever ridden on the Butler grounds? It is beautiful! Not as much roads to ride on--but a great diversion on the way to Swan Point Cemetary...just watch for the security guards--they tend to chase people off the property.

When I lived in Providence I would also ride Allens Ave to Rte 1 to Roger Williams Park. Although, not a safe ride at night--leave it for the daytime.
