chicago: SURLY STEAMROLLER w/ welded bars on fork?

Anyone ever see this bike?

It's a brown Surly w/ like mountain bike bar ends welded onto the fork. They're on the front of the fork (or sides) and face down.

I hope the dude isn't holding onto those when he's riding...

Yeah, I saw that dude riding once when I was on foot and waiting to cross the street. He wasn't using those "low bars" though. I wished I could have asked to see him using them. I also wanna know.

I rode with him for a while in the terror trials in 2004... Unless a lot of people weld bars onto their forks in Chicago. He used the super bars for a short time while I was with him. The name slips my mind right now.

yeah, I'm lucky enough to play polo with him regularly. im not sure though, but I dont think its a steamroller...but it does have a relatively similarly brown and yellow paint scheme.

Bike polo, eh?

I'm not a mind reader. Four letters would of equaled an uncanny amount of clarity.

Be careful, polo might damage your fancy track bike. Best leave it to the conversion hordes.
