Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Oh Jesus. Do a search (if you haven't already) and you can see who likes to ride drunk.

Only if people can see me. I usually keep a PBR in my bag that I bust out when in large crowds. People tell me how gnarly I am because of it and I in return hella ignore them. It's so rad.

instead of drinking, i was wondering how many of you are actually (cigarette) smokers? i've been trying to kick it, but it has me beat. i see some people cruising around with stoges intheir mouths. i can never actually ride and smoke at the same time. i don't even enjoy walking and smoking. yet i do smoke often. i always thought cycling would motivate me to kick it. am i alone on this one????

sorry...don't mean to jack the drinking thread. i don't enjoy drinking and riding either by the way. i enjoy drinking and passing out.

i'm not pround [sic] (sorry ink) of my alcohol habit, but it seems to be the only way to deal with this effing culture i live in. anyone have an actual community/tribe i can join, let me know. and yes i be bunking drike frequently. safer than driving drunk. at least the only one i'm going to kill is myself. and i haven't done that yet.

just wait until you stumble upon other intoxicating substances....its almost refreshing to hear just hitting the bottle a bit more over various tweaker stories that have been popping up lately within my circle...

i just plain ride, whatever state my minds' in drunk or high is generally better than sober and daydreaming for me, since at least i am focused on riding instead of daydreaming, thus i can say that i am forced into intoxication...

Sadly, yes I am. However, not while I am on my bike. Unfortunatly the only thing I am good at is quitting at quitting smoking. Hell, I'm pretty much a champ at that. I try and go cold turkey, then I go a couple days where I only have like two smokes, but then soon enough my consumption is back up and I'm buying packs again. What usually sets it off is a night of drinking. I get to the bar and I'm like how do I drink without having a smoke? I don't usually ride drunk. I have a few times, but I don't really like to, it makes my stomach feel queezy.
