steel vs aluminum toe clips
so...i'm sure this is an old topic but when I searched i didn't really find what I was looking for.
question: steel or aluminum toe clips?
i understand the obvious weight difference between the two metals, but i'm wondering more about durability. i wouldn't say i'm a hardcore rider by any means, but i subject my bike to the basic daily rigors of any fixed gear out there. i like the idea of aluminum clips only because they would be lighter...but steel would hold up longer i'd think. does it really matter which i go with?
for peace of mind i think i'm gonna go with aluminum cause those are the ones i want subconsciously haha

I don't think anyone will say anything contrary to what you did in answering your own question.
I broke a pair of old aluminum cinelli clips. Look out for the jagged edges where they break -- ouch. My steel MKS clips seem to be holding up great.
well...based upon further consideration and your bit of info, i just ordered a set of steel MKS clips
thanks for the insight adam
