Frame Spacing

Have an old Raleigh Competition frame. I think the frame spacing is 125.. or something along those lines.

Would squishing it to the 120mm be a problem, or should i buy a 130mm fixed hub??

Any suggestions would be great

thanks guys

it's no problem... get a standard 120 hub and use some spacers on the axle to space it out to 125.

With a steel frame, you don't even have to space out the hub if you don't want. You'll only be moving each dropout in 2.5mm. It makes mounting the wheel a little harder, but its not bad. If you do space it, make sure you space the same on both sides or risk messing up your chainline, or making the other threading of a flip flop hub unusable.

peace,

Many road frames are 126mm, thats probably what size it is. IRO makes a 126mm hub
