Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

It's not a track frame. It looks to be a road frame that used clip on cable guides. It will work fine as a fixed gear though.

All I could find out is that the company has been making frames for ~75 years in Japan.
It looks like a pretty good frame though, and for that price with a BB, headset, etc, it's probably a good deal. Unless you're looking for a track frame specifically, I would say go for it.

Stamping is a manufacturing process, cutting a piece out of some sheet metal. As opposed to forging dropouts, which would be stronger.

I translated the page for you.

Company is still operating in Japan and is owned by Hodaka.

Well the guy just cancelled on me for tonight.I did some more searching and came up rave reviews on their mtb's.Nothing on roadies though. But I will make sure I get all the info when I get to see it. When he called me back I gave him a hard time said that I really only wanted to pay about 25-30, he said thats all he expected to get anyway I just might make this a beater. No more than 100 dollars invested. Thanks Ceya

if it isn't, just get hit by a car while riding it and claim that it was. then you can buy a good frame.

that's how it works, right?
