Boston: bike polo, grass track racing?

i was looking into bike polo today, it looks like a pretty fun sport, as well as grass track racing, anyone think we could get something like this started in boston somewhere? the fens would be a good place since theres already fields layed out. we do already have the organized track racing thing at MIT which is cool, although i haven't attended yet, hopefully this week i can make it out there...

P.S. if any of this sounds really random, its prolly because of all the pain meds they put me on...

I'd be down for either. I've never grass track raced or played polo before, (who has?) so i'm sure it'll be a crash fest.

I don't know the place you're talking about in the fens. The hatch shell is a large open area which could work if need be.

I'm pretty sure I can swing Tuesday. Any restrictions on bars?

Anyone actually know polo rules or should someone look them up?

I'm good for tues eve, after 6ish or so. What's the venue?
Do we use a soccer ball for the ball, or is there something else? I could bring a soccer ball if needed.
I guess I should gear down my bike for this.

I can maybe do Tuesday also. But don't make me change the bars on my bike - I already do that too often.

I can do Tuesday at 6p, but not in the afternoon. Anyone have a croquet set that we can raid for clubs? Where do we go for the grass? Jamaica Pond has some open space but I worry that too much running about will tear up the surface and get cyclists banned.

What up?

If it is, I might be a bit late as I've drawn dog duty (eww!) this evening. But I could still probably swing it a little later. Or people could play without me and leave messages here about how awesome it was but how it'd be awesomer with my participation.

Did this happen?

Anyhow, this morning while walking the dog I stumbled across the exact thing I was looking for: one of those mini basketballs. I think that's about regulation size.

let's try for tuesday, 6-6:30pm
meet at the basketball courts on washington street between berkley and waltham in the south end.
if we can't get in there, we'll roll down the street to another set of courts.
i have about nine mallets and one ball. if anyone has extra STREET HOCKEY BALLS bring them.

look here for rules: https://www.axlesofevil.org/main.php?c=what&t=rules
these guys are the bike polo ambassadors, so we play by their rules...
