Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

mpls-Farewell Race/Party/Pinball Madness

Yo.

So I am off to Chicago in a few weeks. Since I will be in the second city this coming weekend I will miss the big bike-in at the Bell Museum and wont be able to pass out as many flyers as I had hoped for my race that I am throwing next Monday, August 22nd.

The racing is going to be all downtown stops in the On-Time Deliver/Edina Couriers zone so it should be a fast race. I am trying to throw a race that some what simulates a couriers busier hour. But, of course there are some tricks thrown in. I wont tell you what they are, but they are really awesome. People might hate me after this race, but I don't care because I am moving. Suckas...

So anyways check it out...

Aug. 22nd
6pm
The Bench(behind the hyatt on the loring greenway)
$5

This is a yellow bag race. Someone else needs to win it. Please try your best.

After the race we will be having a little get together at Mackenzie on Hennipen Ave. I am trying to get a bunch of free pinball games and all of you can challenge me to a game. Prepare to lose.

Peace
Tim

tim,

it saddens me that you are leaving our fair city, but i know you will be much happier [and hopefully busier] in chi-town. i'm putting together my saturday night ride dream team now, and unfortunately you're no longer able to be on the list.
i'll race in your last race here, just for you.
mpls will miss you.

Hey Tim,
Sorry to hear that you're leaving, even though I don't know you that well. I found out where the Bench is thanks to Ryan (Toothless Wonder). I'm gonna get him to come out as well.
I had a really bad crash last night at 33rd and Lyndale but I should be ready by Monday. See ya there....

Oh sure... You sprung for pinball, but no darts? Well if you like your competition to be in limited numbers, then perhaps that's a better option for someone moving to Chi-town.
