"fixed" isn't a messenger mag. I think the nybma has some issues of "urban death maze" online, if you want the real thing.

Click here for the website: Fixed Magazine

I think a couple of people who are responsible for Fixed Magazine are on this forum (they also do the pretty excellent Animal Magazine). Fixed Mag is well laid out and pretty informative, count me as a fan. Also, it costs $0.00, which is good.

I did hear somewhere that "Fixed" is a semi-secret Puma custom publishing project, though that could be just a rumor! It does have some a Puma ad or two and a Puma Messenger team feature though...conspiracy, anyone?

i heard that copies were available in nyc a couple months ago. i don't think the site will ever work. from what i heard, the whole mag was basically just a pig puma ad.

They actually sold ads though, or at least gave them away. But yeah they are basically funded by Puma, and that's straight from Bucky's mouth to my ear, albeit at a party with open bar... He also admitted that Animal loses money, no surprise there although its actually a pretty good mag on some pages. No sign of a new issue for Fixed either, wonder if Puma pulled the plug? Or maybe they are just waiting for high season, which would mean it should drop in the next month or so.

I hate to say it, but that magazine was the first I had ever heard of fixed gears. I got it when I ordered a shoulder strap pad from Timbuk2. I read thru it, and thought it was interesting.

I had been wanting a road bike for a while, and it just seemed to make sense.

After that, it was all over... All I do is ride my fixie around now...

Kind of a little of both. Some stories of messengers/fixie riders too. Some track stuff as well. Velodromes and whatnot.

And hot babes holding merchandise. That's kinda nice too.
