narrow drop bars

so where can i get some drop bars that are really narrow and mostly curves? iv seen em on bikes but i cant find them for sale.

Fugazi Dave 09-08-05 02:20 PM

Nitto B123's come as narrow as 36cm and are nothing but gravy, I mean curves.

You'd probably want Nitto B123 or B125 bars. They come as narrow as 36cm and are available from a whole ream of places, most of which are listed in the LBS/OBS sticky thread. Try Trackstar, Bussiness Cycles, World Class Cycles, or Yellow Jersey for starters. You can also just type "nitto" into the search function on eBay and you'll probably get a lot of hits.

probably hard to find outside of Japan but the nitto's actually come as narrow as 34cm

jrowe 09-08-05 02:26 PM

123s are curvier. You should be rather narrow yourself if you're gonna ride with 36cm drops. Of course if you pose with your hands at the stem all the time, it doesn't matter.

heres the page youw ant and the plac eyou should buy them from!

I think the poster's probably referring to the crazy old school Cinelli teardrop bars (and the lookalikes)...for those you just gotta patrol the **** out of eBay, hit up the vintage bike shops, pick through the trash and hope to god a pair of them turn up for less than 200 beans.

...orrr go for the B123's. Businesscycles.com has them down to 36cm. Realistically, anything skinnier than that on the street is unfunctional anyway.

jrowe 09-08-05 02:41 PM

Business doesn't always have them. Ben's Bikes ebay store has them sometimes.

Grunk 09-08-05 04:08 PM

They aren't track bars, but I bought some Salsa Motoace Short & Shallows from speed goat. 36cm.

hyperRevue 09-08-05 04:12 PM

I know Ben's Bikes in real life has tons of them in stock.

thatcher 09-08-05 05:15 PM

yeah it isnt really for function. its more for form. i dont ride more than a few miles to work and id like my next bike to be pretty. i can ride the one i have now if im gunna do some more miles and climbs n such. thanks for the help

griffin_ 09-08-05 05:23 PM

thatcher 09-08-05 05:33 PM
