Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Trackstar NYC - Mail Order Experience

I ordered a wheelset from Trackstar a few weeks ago and they finally arrived. Just wanted to comment on the excellent customer service I got from those guys.

First off, they sorted me out with the best price on the wheelset and the build quality is top-notch. The box got damaged in shipping and the area where my address was written was totally gone. Essentially, it was lost in the USPS system for about a week. They followed up, called USPS, found out when it was supposed to get here and consistently contacted me via e-mail and phone to see if they had shown up and if they were OK.

Even though it wasn't their fault, they offered me a nice concession for having to wait the extra time for the wheelset.

If you're looking for track parts and your LBS ain't got it... call Trackstar.

Ben: glad you finally got the wheelset. Now your bike is even hotter than before.

[grumble]Not that I'm jealous or anything.[/grumble]

Nice. Thanks for posting your good experiences w/ a shop. Too often you only hear the bad news about places. It's good to hear a straight up recommendation (and then another one).

Thanks, I'll definately consider them for the next purchase. I've had good results with businesscycles in FL too.
