SS Recommendation

I'm ready to spring for a single speed to ride during lunch hours through the winter. This will be my first single speed. I'm leaning toward one of these:

1. Van Dessel Country Road Bob
2. Kona Unit
3. IRO Mark V

Any thoughts about these bikes? Other suggestions?

Thanks.

correct me if i'm wrong iro owners but i don't believe the mark v is drilled to accept a rear brake, thus it's not suitable for freewheel ss

it is drilled for a rear brake. those are three pretty different bikes, though. i happen to own a mark v and a unit... and they are both great bikes for their intended use. i guess you just have to decide if you want a road bike or a mt bike. and if you get the iro, fix it. or at least give it a try on the flip flop.
