Which track cranks fit my campagnolo BB?

Hi, I need some help choosing the cranks for my first fixie. I've got a Campagnolo Chorus BB, it says 36x24T and I would like to keep it, but don't know which of all the available track cranks will fit it without problems. The record pista are too expensive for me, will the Sugino, Miche, Stronglight... work?

Thanks!

It'll depend in part on the length of the Spindle, but yeah, Miche cranks should be compatible w/ the Campy tapers. Sugino is a no, as is Shimano, and I'm not sure about Stronglight.

You could probably just run a Campy road double minus one of the things for cheaper than any of those, though.

miche will work ... not sure about stronglight most likely not. Plus, miche is cheap enough. Sugino is JIS taper like Shimano. Campy is ISO taper. Just be sure the Chorus BB is symetrical / not for a triple road crank.

Thanks for the answers guys.

The bb was mounted with double cranks which I could buy 2nd hand... but I think I'll go with the Miche, and she should speak italian too!

I believe the Miche's take a 103mm BB. If your Campy BB is the double 102mm, then you should be pretty close to getting a decent chainline with the Miche and good to go.

If the Campy BB is a 111mm, then you're going to be way off chainline wise with the Miche cranks.

You could also add a 1mm spacer to the drive-side to give you a perfect chainline. Haven't done it but have heard of it done.

I'm using a C Record pista BB, which was a cheap eBay pickup, with a Miche Primato crank, the old one with the proper 144mm bolt circle. This works beautifully. The arms snug up to about 2mm from the BB cups, no rubbing, no bizarre chainline. You might want to trawl through eBay or Craigslist, and see what you might turn up.
In terms of what you have in hand, I'm pretty sure the Stronglight taper matches the Campy. The traditional rule is to try to match the manufacturer, if not match the country of origin. In plain English, that means you can use any Italian crank on that Chorus BB you have without worrying. If you can get that road crank, take one of the rings off, and use it. All you need then is a 1/8" pitch 135mm BCD chainring, which is the size that Miche makes, I think.
Remember: the more times the word 'campagnolo' appears on your bike, the cooler it is, and the faster it goes. Really.

yeah, i spaced this point out, i should have mentiond this. If your stuck with a 111 you should just pick up the miche BB it is dirt cheap and works fine. Campy is nice no doubt, but honestly if you use your fixed the way most of "us" do who gives a f#@$ use the miche it is practically disposable. Also don't go by what it says on the cup of the BB for the true dim, it will be printed on the body of the BB requiring you to remove it and read the label.

I'm running an el cheapo Sugino RD crank matched to an equally cheap shimano BB. Naturally, the chainline is ****ed up and my Simoncini is embarrassed every time we ride in public. I need to pull the crank in about 2mm to allign the chain, but I may be replacing the wheel soon so Im not sure what chainlines I will need in the future (42mm? 44mm? no idea).

I've noticed the Miche Primato BB doesn't have flanges, which means the chainline would be slightly adjustable, but I assume the taper will not match my Sugino crank. A website posted the Miche as having an "ISO taper" (industry standard, whatever that means). I've also seen the shimano/sugino products having "JIS taper" (assumed: Japanese Industry Standard).

So does anyone know if these tapers are standardized? (I thought this might clear the taper issue up, but in hindsight I see I've only added to the confusion).

Newer Stronglight cranks are JIS taper, call for a 107mm BB.
Any newer sub-Chorus Campy double crank will line up pretty close with the Chorus 102mm BB. Something like .5mm outboard.
I've heard the Miche primato cranks are fully compatible with it.
The Chorus BB is great. I put one through hell and negligence for the better part of a year on my mess. bike and it still feels smooth spinning it in my hands. If you're bike is going to see rain, make sure your bottom bracket shell has a hole in it. Campy even suggests drilling a hole if your frame doesn't have one!

I'm running a 111mm Campy record pista BB with my Miche Cranks, the chainline is pretty good, though maybe not perfect. The Miche bottom brackets are 107mm, so 111mm seems like a better option than 102mm, especially if you're going to run a moderatly large chain ring.

I've got sorta the same questions concerns.
I just got a Steamroller frame and along with my order came a Campy bb, Sugino 75 crankset, FSA Orbit headset, an extra 51t FSA chainring, and some Nitto drops.
Well, stupid ole me decides he wants to tinker around with everything and tries to push the CampyBB into the frame, just to see if it will fit. Well, I'm sure most of you guys already know what I'm gonna say next.
IT GOT STUCK!!! And I have'nt taken it to my lbs yet to get it unstuck, any suggestions on what I should use. If the CampyBB just will not work and can be taken out without any damage I'll sell it. My other option was that I was gonna take apart my Benotto road conversion and transfer it to the Surly frame. I have lots of bike parts\stuff laying around for trade if any of you Mpls peeps would be interested in helping me put this together, so that I can learn on my own and not have to pay some shop to do it.
Anyone with free time please feel free to PM me.
