Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Can some please explain to me why there is such an influx in all things Pirate? Such as people calling themselves pirates, pirate flags etc. Am I just sensitive to all things Pirate or has anyone else seen this happening over the past year or so? I post here, because I've seen a lot of "Piratism" here as well! (Not to be confused with "Pirating")

BTW I'm not speaking of "Raider Nation"

For the record, I haven't gone through a dramatic ordeal with a batch of pirates.

So, you had an ordeal with pirates, but it wasn't dramatic.

Did it involve Ex-lax and rubber pants?

....So this pirate walks into a bar. He's got a big ol' pirate ships steering wheel shoved down the front of his pants. The bartender says, "are you aware of the fact you have a steering wheel in your pants?". The pirate says, "Argh!...Its drivin' me nuts!".

I saw some pirate band-aids at the local book shop. It took all I had not to buy them all and cover my IRO in them. I'm still fighting the urge.

The doorbell rang on Hallowe'en and, when the lady of the house answered, there was a little pirate standing on the porch. "Arrrrrrr trick or treat" he said. The hausfrau chucked him under the chin and exclaimed: "How cute, a little pirate.... where's your buccaneers?" He replied "They're under my buccan hat. Now let's have that candy!"

So I saw this pirate selling corn by the freeway so I stopped and asked him, "how much for your corn?" He replied, "for you, a buck an ear!".

Well I dunno about the ninjas, it seems like they were at prime in the late 80's and early 90's when every movie had a pack of black suited ninjas. Plus the Ninja Turtles were big. But anyhow, has anyone else seen this trend? (regarding the Pirates)
