Bikes on the Metra?
Hey Chicagoans....
anyone know what the deal is with bikes on the metra after October? is the program ending and therefore bikes will be prohibited completely, or was the bikes on trains program just a promotional thing to get people active during the summer months.

Trial period this summer, ending this month. They will gauge it.
From the Chicago Bike Federation:
The initiative ends Oct. 30. When it's over, Metra will consider expanding the service year-round. Let Metra Chairman Philip A. Pagano know you want year-round bicycle access to Metra trains. If you used the service this summer, mail or fax Pagano a thank-you letter [Metra, 547 W. Jackson St., Floor 13 W, Chicago, IL 60661-5717; (312) 322-6965 fax] that tells him what worked for you and what didn't, and state clearly that Metra should reinstate Bikes on Trains in January 2006 as a year-round campaign. Please fax a copy of your correspondence to the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation at (312) 427-4907.
