on the optimist side of this.....noticed last night during a slight break from the pounding... the blasting down buckets of rain have done some powerwashing on the streets.....

Yeah, the rain was definitely needed... as for me, I normally commute by bike, but I'm lacking fenderage, so riding in would be a fairly moist exercise.

this rain is crazy, but as stated earlier, it IS doing some much needed street cleaning... so I guess it's not all bad.
is this any indicator of the winter we are about to have?
who's got a farmers almanac?
imagine 10 straight days of snow!
I need some fenders.

hey roscoe, I just saw the Debernardi... the paint job turned out AWESOME!!!
I'm glad that frame went to a good home.

All up and down the east coast... DC has been the same, though I doubt we got as much total as you folks. I'm glad it's Friday; this junk really saps your strength.

I had a dream last night where my bike stood up on her rear wheel and spoke... it said "Wang, get some f'ing fenders so you can ride me in the rain." then she slapped me with the front wheel.

hahahahahahahahahaha. the visual I have of that in my head is friggin' hilarious.

I can't believe that rain is keeping me from riding my bike.
I used to LOVE rainy, muddy trail riding on my mountain bike. I actually looked forward to it.
are there any precautions to take after riding my fixie in the rain? anything I should make sure to check, wipe down or lube/relube before or after my ride?

yeah, I had enough of this rain crap and renewed my morning commute to work today. 4 subway trips in two days were mooooooore than enough. I got myself pretty wet, but I'm much happier.

i've been riding through most of this shit, but i have to admit that i took today off. i just couldn't stomach it at 6 am today. it's weird, i feel sorta guilty - i haven't commuted by subway since last may, and that was cos i was injured.

as for bike-care: i usually just wipe the frame down afterwards (it's steel). i'll relube when everything's dry, but if i forget, no big deal.

Found one of them garden-spade shaped fenders in the trash yesterday
You know, the kind you just jam under the saddle? Saved my butt today.
Of course, the rest of me is soaked thru. I regret nothing!

according to Pat (Kiernan) it's supposed to stop late tonight/early tomorrow.
partly cloudy with a high of 70º. yay!

I have one of those clear plastic riding jackets too. it keeps me dry from the rain, but the damn thing is so friggin' hot that I end up being soaked from sweat.
