Weather is still nice.
SF come out and play bicycles
We will meet at the Rollerskater spot in Golden Gate Park on JFK drive between 7th and 8th Ave at 7pm this evening.
Tomorrow, same deal but at 9pm at the bow and arrow on the EMB (folsom and embarcadero).
We will work on backwards circles, skids, etc. for a little bit then proceed to some riding around town. I also hope to cover burrito and beer skill towards the end of the class.
What to bring - yourself and a bicycle.
This is of course free of charge and a non-corporate event.
Hope to see you there!

Is Adidas sponsoring this? I've always been an Adidas fan anyway. And they actually make cycling stuff.

he thinks they exploit cycling and soccer way too much and as of yet are underexploiting basketball and hockey

Thursday night will be sponsored by Miller High Life.

I'm much faster when I have 32oz of the champagne of beers in me...

Edit: Thursday night 9pm at the bow and arrow on the EMB (folsom and embarcadero).

It is South towards Half Moon Bay. It is detailed in the Short bike rides san francisco book. Looks very interesting and I do want to do it sometime soon.

I guess there are some rought patches on the Planet o apes ride. Sounds more like SS/MTB terrain to me, unless this is a new fixedgear-cyclocross-fireroad/singletrack-bombing contigent.

Don't be too bummed, the original message did say polo field a 7, dmv at 8ish.
I think I cruised by the polo field around 7:30 so I must've just missed you too.

we had a ride like that in east bay too that went through some old/sketchy industrial areas north of berkeley. i wish i remembered the route as it isn't listed on the cal cycling route page either. tears.

i just remember riding on some super sketchy part around the water that was some old abandoned bike path with monster ruts that sucked someone's wheel right into it. he was feeling the pain.

i think i've done that ride! does it go out on like, cutting through richmond/el cerrito and then back around through the seacliff resident community? i had my roadie at the time, so i didn't get to actually experience the ruts, but i'm pretty sure i know where you're talking about.

or are you talking about just the bay trail that ends up near the richmond marina and then you can go check out the port of richmond where the cranes are? there's a big abandoned warehouse over near there that looks like it's pretty amazing inside...

and the half moon bay ride is totally rad. if it's the same one i've done, it's out amongst the salt marshes. the smell is incredible, but it's worth it just for the scenery. that area is pretty flat, but coming from the east bay and then continuing back up toward SF from the dumbarton bridge is pretty hilly.
