Any opinions on Suede saddles?

I was looking at a black or white suede saddle... Anyone try a suede saddle? how did you like or dislike it?

Comfort issues?
grip issues?
Do they wear out fast?
get dirty fast?
rain issues?

I guess this seat would really go on my weekend ride, and i dont ride that in the rain...

Thanks!
s.

I had a suede or at least suede like saddle and felt like I was stuck to it. It made me realize how much supple sliding around I do on my slick leather saddle. I got rid of it fast.

You can't let suede get wet. Dumbest idea of all time.

you slide around on a saddle a lot more than you realize...

however,
i ride a saddle co flow, and it didn't take me that long to get used to sitting up out of the saddle when i wanted to move a bit... after a bit it became automatic...

Are you sure it was suede and not buffalo hide?

suede also tends to absorb odors, i've noticed...and the odors a saddle is subjected to are not the ones you want absorbed anywhere!

got a brown suede saddle on the ross and i like it ok. haven't bothered waterproofing it, but luckily i haven't really been caught in the rain yet (knock on wood). you kinda get used to the fact that you're pretty much stuck to the saddle. just lift up a bit and you can slide around. if i rode the ross more, i'd probably buy something leather for it, but it just looks so damn neat on there that it's hard for me to take it off.
