Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

the longest skid

A fun little bit of trivia,

The current guiness world record for longest skid is is 337 ft.

http://www.superskid.com/record.php

The qualifier for worlds in jersey was 300ft. probably 40 people qualified. and if i'm not mistaken squirrel did something like 512 feet. so this record is up for grabs.

the certificate alone would be priceless.

if you wanna register ancd challenge it do it.

the video clip on the site is great. it took 10 minutes to download but it's great. he's wearing shop protective glasses for one bit and a lemond 89 TT helmet in the attempt.

I was under the impression that the longest track skid on record was 509 feet.
