Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

whats the stupidest thing that happened to you at the MNG?

Some of you probably have me beaten...but...

On my way to the friends house I was staying at on Saturday night (99% intoxicated) I ended up on Rush Street where all those poncy bars are located. I ride in front of a black Mercedes and get into a track stand waiting for a break to get through the light. All of the sudden, my drunken light headedness gets the best of me. I realize I am falling over and am not sure what to do.

The moral of the story is that I proceeded to fall backwards onto the hood of this expensive automobile.

My response was to put my hand down on it. Lift myself off (I hadn't come unclipped) and proceed to ride off.

Please, other than getting arrested, tell me something more embarrassing.

friday night, riding leg 2 of the race, being so amped that i went out WAY to hard and toatlly thrashed my bronchiae. i was coughing for the rest of the weekend.

riding xc style, curb-hopping insanity, following cogsci to checkpoint 2.
that and thinking i'd lost my manifest at checkpoint 5.

walking into the men's room at some random bar, being too drunk to realize i was in the men's room, and actually asking some guy (who was peeing at a urinal) what he was doing in the girls room.

and then losing my balance and falling on him.

eep.

I distinctly remember someone punching me in the arm on Saturday night and me turning around and punching this person in the face. It wasn't hard, but i think the person turned around and walked away without saying anything.

Problem is, I have no idea who it was.
Anyone here?
Anyone here still wanna rumble with tinkerbell?

oh yeah,, and there was that whole "oops! i just f*cked up my host's arm" thing.
like wtf mother f*cker!? You asshat.
..
years from now I will still have no clue how that ******** happened.

Shantykins,,, I got your back big money. That ride home was ********. And you didn't have your contact in, so you were blinking all over the place and riding with one eye closed. For real though, I'm amazed we didn't die.

um... i think Msngr has a lot more explaining to do, personally. i mean, jeez - it's encouraging to know that i've got the kind of figure that's hard to resist, but next time i'm charging for the pleasure.

this is true beyond a doubt. dude is the most accomplished swearer i've ever come across, bar none. and listening to him make fun of his 'Ronald McDonald Happy Meal' bike, while totally sh1tfaced and squinting out of his one good eye had me in tears. freeeekin' hilarity.

you forgot the part where i fell over in front of it after i bounced off it. i think that might fall under humorous instead of stupid. if i'd thumped the car without realizing it was a copmobile, that would've been stupid. i'd have to say the stupidest thing i did all weekend was ride around on a 50-tooth ring after being off the bike for three weeks. ouch.
