Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

My Cateye headlight was stolen last night off my FIXED GEAR (keep the post) bike. I need a new light. Any suggestions? I liked the small size of my old lamp, but would sacrifice some size for a little more strength and a mount that allows for easy detachment.

these are my favorites, best battery life and lightest, helmet mount is pretty neat too.

I would go with the triple shot but the battery life and helmet mount make this the best buy for me.

my rec is for the light you already had. but detach and take with you always. Or mount it to your helmet.

I'm a safety nerd, I have the light that the OP mentioned permanently on my helmet with a nightrider trailrat 2.0 on the bar. I've noticed it really helps with drivers, cause that thing is BRIGHT.

I have the one that you originally had and also have an EL100 and EL110. The thing I like about the EL400 is that you can attach it to any bike in a matter of seconds, super convenient. On the other hand, if you're planning on doing a decent amount of riding around, it tends to slip and that annoys me. I like the fixed bracket on the other lights. It's just that I never seem to have enough brackets to go around.

i like the serfas 6 led one. CB has it. it's 3 AAA batteries, no hardware, clips on and off with no screws or anything. superhandy. shims built in.

interesting that you need a headlight, though. we haven't seen you about lately, monsieur. what's the word?
