    Mounting the Specialized Armadillo tire

So I went for the Armadillos and rode them home from work (where I mounted them) today. F'ing sucks. They are completely out of round. Not like a "normal" amount either, a tangible amount on both the front and back wheels. I've mounted and remounted them 3 times each to no avail.

    Tricks?

    Return?

    eBay?

    Ben

they could be out of round. sometime batches of tires go bad like that. take it back to wherever you got them asap before you wear them down too much and have them look at 'em. are you sure your rims are true/round?

I worked in a shop a couple years ago - armadillos are a PITA to mount on certain rims.

are they not round up-down or side-side?

Out of round in a vertical manner (up/down). My wheels are perfectly in true. 36 hole deep V's.

Feels like riding over seams in cement.

is it near the valve hole where it's doing it? because of the valve sometimes the bead doesn't seat right there.

yeah I got one Armadillo that was hopelessly out of round. Return it if you can. I would guess that manufacturing defects would make more of a ride difference on such a stiff tire.
