- looks like house of track turned into house of crack... low-end startup with no bill 'tracking'?
:-)
- it's nice to have alternatives besides Gnashbar, Poorformance, and Supernogo... so it's sad to see one fade away...

I've actually been talking with Neal a couple of times lately due to an order I've made. Didn't quite get the whole picture but they had some problems with the store and were forced to sleep there to protect the place or so. I'm hoping Neal will prove to be as good dealer as he seems to be as a person. My parts should arrive soon, if they don't I'll make shure this whole community hears about it!

whoops! Their website is suspended and doesn't work anymore. Atleast when I checked a few seconds ago.
I'm holding my breath.

Wasn't it based in Las Vegas as well? Fitting, if you think about it what a crap shoot ordering from them seemed to be .

those people (neal and the female houseoftrackette) got my order right (sorta) after a few false starts, but are totally weird and unprofessional. apparently all his distributors dropped him and somebody broke into his store. then he wrote me several rambling paragraphs about it, in response to the question: 'where is my fork'

I tried to order some pedals from him like 4 months ago. After they never showed up, I asked for my money back. To his credit, he did give me a refund, but he said something to the effect of "You should be happy I'm giving your money back because you're past the time limit for lodging a complaint with PayPal, so I could totally keep your money." Like I'm supposed to be all "Thank you for not ripping me off"!?!?

I ordered pedals from him and i got them very quickly. He even sent me free MKS clips.
The funny/wierd thing was when he called me the day after I placed my order. He was in his car and was yelling at other motorists while talking to me. He was saying things like,"Don't they know with the amount of money we are making in the shop we can destroy that little camry." Then he'd carry on with the conversation/business like nothing happened.
Jekyll & Hyde for real.

I don't know how old this was, i don't remeber reading their news. But i just found this on the houseoftrack site, which is now back up. it has no mention of their downtime and now they don't carry Euro-Asia cogs or any frames. Euro-Asia cogs are the only high quality cogs (in my opinion) that come in larger sizes. Dura ace only makes cogs up to 16T, and soma sucks! Here's the news:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a sad note we talked to Anthony at Euro-Asia. We were accused of not being brick and mortor. We were told we were not a retail store when we asked who said that since we have been in business at our present address since 1986 and before that in other locations. We were told that we were not doing business right since we feel if we screw up we should compensate the poor customer thats screwed because a distributor messes up. We were led to believe that EAI might have us back since as they say it the bridges are never burned. Well we have just one thing to say to that. They may not get burned by them but its a bridge we will never chance again.
I have never dealt with a company in the industry thats more shaddy then them. I say this because when you can sell a frame to your dealers unmarked frames and let them call them what they want and charge as much as they see fit. This seemed cool. One guy named his Nesunno and there were many other names. The problem is where we simply titled the Bare Knuckles frame as Private Lable many companies I will not mention gave them names then took the wholesale frame that cost only $350.00 with the fork included and charged anywhere from $600.00 to $900.00 + shipping per frame. NOw we are not above making money thats in fact why we sell on line. But to make over 50% margin on such a big ticket item is pretty extreme especialy when you buy on lone. If you paid over $600.00 after tax and shipping for one of those frames with any cool little name on it. I would look at better dealers if I were you.
Anyways, I got reamed over the whole situation where we prefer to be honest and reveal pricing when asked from regular customers etc... So we will be glad not to ever deal with EAI and their Policies.
Now on to a happy note. Watch the site for more and more new items to come accross the board. We will be cleaning the site up right now and from here on we are going to be running at 100%.

Fwiw, I bought a cog from them, got it in 3-4 days in Canada.
The "free shipping" is the cheapest USPS shipping available (no ins or del conf), and I believe that in my talking to Neal he said stuff could be shipped insured for an added cost.

I've got a "rule of thumb" about online sellers, ebay, craigslist and elsewhere: If they can't manage to communicate clearly in the listing, beware. One can expect the rest of the transaction to be just as incoherent.

Here's a gem from their Frames page:
"We are working deals for new frame companies. Some of which will include: Look, Louis Garneau, Fetish, BMC, Van Dessel, Felt, Bianchi, Corima, Javelin, and Elite among many others. We may even carry some Surly if requested."
Don't count your chickens before they're unprofessionally hatched...
