Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Msngr said I could crash at his casa when I went up for Monster Track VI. But it was so freakin' cold I took the train back that night. So freakin' cold...

Thanks Msngr, you rock.

No you rock. When are you gonna drop Magnum on us?

I would like to recognition msngr for telling old man stories already on the cusp of his old-agedness. In advising me on my path through New Jersey tomorrow, he sat me down on the front stoop of trackstar (meaning, he called me), and, whilst smoking his pipe and rocking in his chair, told me that "when I was a boy, we used to sit on Schooleys Mountain Road and entertain ourselves by watching the cars not being able to get up it. There's no way you can ride your track bike up that road. Go the other way."

Thank you msngr, for saving me.

I forgot that I left the last post on this thing.

anyway, I'd like to *heart* msngr again for showing me & my special lady friend an incredible weekend in Montauk. The 100-mile-into-a-15mph-constant-headwind ride became unenjoyable real fast, but the Montauk Spa day passes his parents hooked us up with afterwards? OMG. Let me repeat. OMG. I still can't believe I went to a spa & hung out in the steam room, sauna, & roman bath for an hour, but man...that was arguably the best possible thing to have done after a ride like that. OH, and then his mom made us a giant bowl of pasta with sausage and meatballs. ?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! And his Dad mixed us black & tans!!!!!!!!!!!!! Perfect.

So, this may be more of a recognition to Msngr's parents, but still, I *heart* their spawn as well.

a month or two ago, while ragingly drunk (and about 20 minutes before he was in the back of an ambulance after trying to ride home through a car) he told me that I reminded him of him when he was like me at that age, and than proceeded to mumble to himself for a minute .... needless to say, I was scared, clenched my buttcheeks and ran.
