Yup, and bikes too
42x19 on the winter ride is too high for me for riding on snow and ice - I go faster than I would care to.

Same 44/16 as in the summer, but then I'm a wuss and will stop riding when the snow and ice comes in earnest. Wet and cold is OK for me, but not icy and frozen...

48/18 in the summer. I'm currently riding 42/17 on my winter bike, but that might change as we get more snow. 39/16? You go slow, but I'm in no rush on ice.

My good bike is either 46x16 or 49x17. The winter ride I'm building will be 46x17,
and the current winter ride has ...um, a derailuer.

Road bike for me for now (nursing a mcl grade 1 injury). 42x17 or 42x15.
For December and January, I will change the gearing on my track bike to 47x18 from 47x15/16 (49x16).
Hours on the bike is more important than pushing big gears in the winter.

47X19 on the road fixie- keeps things under control without taking too much of a top end hit.
When conditions get really bad, i break out the mtb which is geared 42X18/20, for plowing through drifts and powersliding through turns.

In anticipation of colder weather, I went from 52x18 to 48x18 on my everyday rig, but I did it a little early and was starting to regret it (spinning too much), but then a 25-degree morning came and all my joints were creaky and I was glad for the downgrade. My dedicated snow bike (OK, not that dedicated - also use it for grocery store runs) is running 40x15, which is exactly the same as 48x18 (except with 700s instead of 27s, and 165s instead of 175s).

I'm in the bike changing thing too. My SS roadie is low 42:17, old, fat, bad knees, lazy. And my *Cough* 3 speed internal hub is on a 36:18 setup. The 3 speed is setup with 2 inch knobbies and fenders for the snow.
This will be my 3rd kansas winter with no car.

My snow and ice bike with studded tires is at 36/16, but i might be upping that to 36/15, we'll see how it goes. It's slow, but i like to spin and i dont mind going slow in deep snow and slick ice.

Summer ride is 40x14 @ 700c, but the winter ride is 42x18 @ 26" with spiked tires. I might have to go lower when the snow piles up.

Lots of snow and ice here, and then cold and dry in the worst of the winter most of the time. Running 42x15 right now, probably going to bump it down to 42x18 on the road fix and try something like 45x20 (or 42x18) on the mountain fix if it gets built up.

Some of you really like to spin. I went down from 46/16 to 46/18 and i love it. I think i'm going to keep it that way all year round for city riding and messengering.

im not a big fan of spinning unless its on my trainer...maybe its just my youth and bravado showing but id rather mash a big gear up the hills than spin my legs off( within reason of course
