Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Winter nocturnal emissions

The weirdest thing: Last night I had a dream I was on my back porch and it was a hot summer day. I was wrenching on my bike; installing new handlebars or something. Then I got on; rode down the street. The gears purred like a Rolls-Royce motor. The air was hot and really humid as homes and streets went by me. I felt like I was 10 feet tall gliding down the street. The pavement was billiard table smooth. I have no idea where I was going. Then I woke up.

Its 10 degrees in Chicago right now. Where have all the rides gone?
