3 speed fixed gear Sturmey Archer

found this on ebay. it was a 4 speed, they fixed it and now it's a 3 speed fixed hub. im assuming everytime you make an internal hub fixed it loses a gear. i didn't even know there was a 4speed sturmey archer. has anyone done this with 5 or 7 speed hubs or is it even possible? maybe with a shimano nexus 7 speed? imagine 6 fixed gears, more speeds than i need but it's still pretty cool

Well yeah, but what's the point of skidding when you've got a perfectly good brake?

if i had a hub like that i wouldn't want to skid, those things should be preserved. im sure if someone were to turn a nexus 8 speed into a fixed hub they could skid, those things are pretty solid. and it wouldn't weigh a lot considering how many gears your getting. good for touring........ TOUR DE FRANCE PUNKS! (haha that'll be the day)

anyone have an example of skidding killing one of these hubs? I haven't had any problems ... yet

that's the general consensus, but i've never heard of one exploding, so ymmv
