Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Also, check down at 17th or 18th and Titan St in So. Philly. I have seen many a bike for sale on that corner that doesn't really fit the area. Several people have posted on CL that this is a place to look for stolen bikes.

I heard the garage is filled with bikes. I haven't had a chance to ride by and check it out. People should break in and get them out if that's for real. It's ridiculous if that's where stolen bikes are going. There's so many stolen bikes lately I feel like leaving out some old bikes and following these scumbags to wherever it is they go.

it was locked to an iron fence with a new mini u on the top tube. also, there is a little security stand there with university police sitting there, and four cameras mounted on top. i'm hoping they caught the guy on film. i don't know how they got it, the lock wasn't left there and the fence wasn't cut. i am left sad and alone

ps. nobody else in philly rides this frame in this size (i don't think). i have dropped my business card in the handlebars, the seattube, and the seat post.

Titan, huh... it's worth a look. I'll swing by there tomorrow and take a peek.

Sorry about your bike. I'll keep an eye out

that's fücked up! how the hell could someone steal it without cutting the fence in broad daylight? defective lock? liquid nitrogen and a hammer? i'd like to know!

The only IRO i've seen in philly is mine, but I'll keep an eye out. Business card in the tube, good idea.

I was just trying to understand why you would leave it on the ghetto side of campus. Maybe the campus has changed in the few years since I've been there, but 11th street was not such a great place. 12th would be better. I locked my ghetto beater to the rack in front of the engineering bldg. for the time that I was there. I locked my nicer bike to the racks under the library overhang. Were you in Anderson/Gladfelter Hall?

Hell, they may have even built something in the "dirt lot" since I left... I guess the campus was trying to expand towards the SEPTA train station...

i had class in anderson. and while it is more ghetto, i figured having the little security guard with 4 cameras there would be a deterrent. guesssss not.

all in jest.

also OP, let us know if you come up with how they busted your krypto mini. I use it too and it could have happened to anyone. I'd just like to know anything possible on how to keep my bike that much safer. I am sorry though and hope it is recovered.
