Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? The Pogues, Dropkick Murphys, (older) flogging molly. Irish punk actually is in a bigger genre Celtic Punk, another group I listen to once in a blue moon is Roaring Jack(Austrailian which falls under celtic punk, somehow)

My ipod looks really ridiculous, and all of that stuff only makes it worse haha. Mine has all that, plus flatfoot 56, the tossers, a bit of the blaggards, and then some older folk stuff. I'm a bit proud of my heritage.

dad was into Santana, Pink Floyd, Bob Marley and Andre Segovia. took me a long time to "feel" modern jazz. but, 20's/30's/Cotton Club stuff was a favorite all along....

Yea, modern stuff took me a bit, mostly helped along by a class I took last year about jazz history and appreciation. My high school band director was really into older jazz too, so thats all our groups played.

This week it's been Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears. I like that old school James Brown thing they have going on.

Going to see that Avett Brothers tonight. Should be pretty cool.
